Skandia replaces underperformers on Best Ideas

Skandia is replacing several managers on its Global and UK Best Ideas funds who have failed to live up to its performance requirements.

New Star's Stephen Whittaker is out and will be replaced by his colleague Tim Steer who will take on mandates on both the Global and UK vehicles. He is already a manager within Skandia's long/short fund, UK Strategic Best Ideas. Skandia said it was "impressed by his approach and holds in high esteem his abilities in concentrated fund management". Meanwhile, following recent unsettling times at Gartmore, co-managers Ashley Willing and Simon King will be replaced by Aegon's Audrey Ryan on UK Best Ideas.
