UKIP MEP on committee to investigate Equitable Life

The committee investigating the actions of both government and regulators in realtion to troubles at Equitable Life will include seven UK MEPs, one of whom is the controversial UKIP member Godfrey Bloom.

Bloom, who was elected last year to the European Parliament, is known for his outspoken views and is likely to be a vociferous member of the committee. The other UK members of the committee include Ashley Mote MEP, who investigates fraud and corruption on behalf of the EU, and Sharon Bowles MEP, who is a qualified chartered patent attorney. Added to this is Diana Wallis MEP, Peter Skinner, MEP a member of the Citizens' Freedoms and Rights, Justice & Home Affairs Committee and Vice Chair on the Petitions Committee and Sir Robert Atkins MEP.
