Worry over metal prices pull FTSE lower

The FTSE 100 is down 45.7 points, or 0.73%, to 6,201.7 in early trading with miners leading the decline.

Vedanta resources is the biggest drag on the index so far with a fall of 3.43% to £11.81, closely followed by Anglo American which is down 1.85% to £24.35, over worries about metal prices. However Alliance & Leicester is also down 2.27% to £11.18, closely followed by BT Group which is down 2.16% to 306.25p, while Drax has slipped 2.13% to 803p, although losses are being limited by Centrica which is up 0.58% to 347.25p. Amvescap is posting the biggest gains so far with a rise of 1.56% to 584.5p, closely followed by Marks & Spencer Group which has added 1.12% to 722p, while Severn Trent g...
