Platform comparison tool launched

A tool enabling advisers to compare the various services and charges on UK platforms has been launched by consultancy firm The Platforum.

The Platform Analysis Tool (PAT), free to UK advisers, contains information on all the major platform groups and allows comparisons of assets, products, charges and functionality. The Platforum says using the service will help advisers prove they have engaged in a platform selection process, as required by the FSA. PAT will offer two tiers of service, with 'Online PAT' providing a quick snapshot of the industry, while firms with more complex needs can use a bespoke service, called Down PAT, to discover which provider is right for them.
