Computer games push FTSE back through the 5,200 barrier

A solid performance from oil and mining stocks and a big advance from SCi entertainment has pushed the FTSE 100 through the 5,200 mark leaving it up 65.50 points, or 1.27%, to 5,207.60 at the end of trading.

Computer games publisher SCi Entertainment was one of the biggest winners as it soared 121.5p, or 25.39%, to 600p, after it confirmed reports it has received approaches from a number of groups, while Rival Zoo Digital slipped back 3.75% to 9.62p, despite news that its publishing division has signed a deal in the US to publish an interactive DVD game based on Wallace & Gromit. Anglo American led the mining stocks, gaining 70p, or 4.65%, to 1575p, after commodity prices edged higher.
