In the UK the FTSE 100 Index shed about ten points today to 4,973.20 points, as oil stocks continue to tug on the Benchmark.
Crude oil for May delivery dropped 1.4% to $52.60 a barrel in New York, down for a sixth day, while BHP Billiton lost 13p to 716.50p. Imperial Chemical industries also shed 5.25p to 272.25p, along with cruise line company, Carnival, down 53p to £28.65. High street group Boots led gains picking up 14.50p to 649p, with Yell also profiting 6.75p to 420p at close a short while ago. In the US the Dow Jones has slipped about ten points to 10,451.07 points in its morning session, led by Proctor & Gamble.
