High Court green lights Equitable Life transfer

The transfer of £1.8bn worth of with-profits annuity policies from Equitable Life to Prudential has been approved by the High Court.

The court's approval on Friday was the final legal step in the process, with the transfer planned to complete on 31 December this year. Equitable Life says the transfer will not only benefit those annuitants being transferred to Prudential, but also those remaining at Equitable Life with other policies.
