Only third of advisers see a with-profits future

Just one in three advisers believes with-profits bonds do have a future provided they are properly managed, claims new research from Fidelity FundsNetwork.

A survey of more than 300 advisers carried out by FundsNetwork reveals out of the 90% who have at some point recommended a with-profits bond, around 49% have lost faith with the product type and have stopped recommending them to clients. In addition, a further 25% of advisers expect to transfer more than 75% of their with-profits business out of the policies within the next two to three years, while 42% believe they are legacy investments which have no place in the current investment environment.
