Norwich Union (NU) has handed over control of its UK Income Opportunities fund to Daniel Roberts, who will align its strategy closer to his UK Equity Income offering.
Previously managed by Ian Lancaster, the Morley run UK Income Opportunities has struggled in recent months on the back of sluggish small cap performance. NU UK equities head David Lis says the change will enable the firm to be “better placed to meet our objective of a consistently high level of income with capital growth”. “The long term track record of the Norwich UK Income Opportunities fund is very good, but in recent months the fund performance has suffered mainly as a result of its investment focus in the small cap segment of the market,” he says.
