In the UK the FTSE has climbed about 28.50 points to 4855.60 points led by International Power.

The firms added 5.75p to 184.75p, after analysts said its shares have been oversold over the past few days, with its price reflecting a correction. Mining firm Antofagasta also profited further, picking up 36p to 11.81p. The firm owns three copper mines in Chile as prices in New York increased in the metal for the second session in three. Imperial Chemical Industries also added 8p to 266.50p at close. On the downside, Reed Elsevier shed 7p to 520p, along with high street fashion retailer Next, down 19p to 15.44p. Tate & Lyle, the sugar and sweetener group also retreated 5.50p to 490...
