Oil and gas boost FTSE

The benchmark FTSE 100 ended up 15.10 points at 4,480.70 after UK stocks rose for the third day, led by BG Group and BP.

BG Group, a gas producer, rose 14.75p to 341.75p, and BP, Europe's biggest oil company, added 13p to 476.25p. That said, chemical maker ICI lost 1.75p to 234.25p. BOC, an industrial gas maker, dropped 3.5p to 922p. Millwall Holdings, a London soccer club, gainied 0.07p to 0.31p after the team secured its first-ever place in the English FA Cup final. J Sainsbury, the UK's third-largest supermarket store, advanced 9p to 274p. Somerfield, the owner of Kwik Save and Somerfield food stores, shed 4.75p to 159p.
