FTSE closes below 52-week low

The FTSE 100 closed at 6571.30 this evening after jumping 43.7 points, or 0.67%.

The increase was not enough, however, to keep the index from falling beneath the 52 week low of 5681.7p. Experian was one of the day’s top climbers, closing at 626.5p after rising 20.5 points, or 3.38%. BHP Billiton increased by 41 points, or 3.05%, closing at £13.86p. British Energy Group rose by 14 points, or 2.67%, closing at 539p. BG Group climbed 21 points, or 2.65%, reaching 813p. Man Group increased by 15.50 points, or 2.63%, closing at 604.5p.
