Wrap accounts to gain market share by 2008 - research

One-quarter of IFAs expect at least 50% of their business to be placed in wrap accounts within five years because of their administrative advantages, suggests the latest Incisive Insight report.

Data compiled by IFAonline's sister division Incisive Research – through a survey of over 600 independent intermediaries - suggests 25% of advisers believe they will be generating over 50% of their business in wrap products by 2008 because administrative processes and controls are simpler and more than most other products. At the same time, however, research also revealed the majority of IFAs do not appear to know the difference between 'wrap' products and 'wrappers', as only 45% were able to comfortably explain Isas were the wrap products they tend to favour when 88% of IFAs regularly r...
