Old Mutual results brings FTSE down

The FTSE 100 has ended the day down 22.9 points, or 0.38%, to 6,027.2, with Old Mutual leading the decline.

Acting as the biggest drag on the index, the South African insurer fell 5.82% to 166p, following its third quarter results, closely followed by Experian which slipped 3.41% to 566p, while British Energy Group dropped 2.6% to 467.5p. ICI fell 2.39% to 408.75p, while miner BHP Billiton slipped 2.09% to 937p, although losses were limited by Gallaher Group which rose 1.73% to 942p, closely followed by Rexam which added 1.63% to 529p. Amvescap posted the biggest gains with a rise of 2.75% to 560p, closely followed by Yell Group which climbed 2.33% to 570p, while Imperial Tobacco also perfor...
