The government is planning to hold a seminar on the issue of means-testing and personal accounts at the end of the month.
During the Committee stage of the Pensions Bill, members from the opposition - both Conservatives and Liberal Democrats - have focused on the issue of means-testing and whether it actually pays to save in personal accounts. At the start of the Committee there was a call by Nigel Waterson MP, Conservative Shadow Minister of Pensions, for the Committee to hear additional oral evidence, in a similar way to select committee hearings, as a way to clarify the issue.
