Standard Chartered keeps FTSE steady

The FTSE 100 index has gotten off to a shaky start this morning, earning a small rise of just 0.3 points to 6,155.5, as traders remain cautious ahead of key company results released later this week.

Standard Chartered is posting the biggest gains so far with a rise of 2.53% to £14.61, following reports the Dubai government agency Istithmar might raise its stake in the Asia-focused bank. British Airways is higher with a rise of 1.89% to 457.5p, closely followed by insurer Prudential which has added 1.1% to 644.5p, while miner Anglo American has added 0.91% to £24.34, and Intercontinental Hotels Group has climbed 0.8% to £10.05. Enterprise Inns is the biggest faller so far with a drop of 1.29% to £10.69, closely followed by mining firm Kazakhmys which is down 1.28% to £12.34, while...
