The FTSE 100 has ended the day slightly down by 4.9 points, or 0.08%, to 5,981.7 as a rally on Wall Street helped it pull back earlier losses.
Property stocks were the biggest drag on the index with Hammerson falling 2.51% to £12.81, while Slough Estates slipped 2.41% to 648.5p and British Land dropped 1.44% to £13.72. However, mining stocks did their best to rally the index, with Kazakhmys leading the charge and gains of 3.42% to £13.31, while Vedanta Resources added 1.5% to 314.21, Rio Tinto climbed 1.77% to £28.24 and BHP Billiton jumped 1.45% to 310.5p. Centrica was also among the biggest risers with gains of 1.9% to 308.25p, on renewed hopes of an impending bid from Russian peer Gazprom, while British Airways also did well...
