Whitechurch Securities launches absolute return strategy

Whitechurch Securities' managing director Gavin Haynes says a manager's hedge fund expertise is a key factor in selecting funds for its new absolute return strategy.

Holdings at launch include: Newton Absolute Intrepid fund, Cazenove's UK Absolute Target, Gartmore European Absolute Return, Standard Life Global Absolute Return Strategies, SVM UK Absolute Alpha fund and Threadneedle Absolute Return Bond portfolio. It also intends to buy the Odey Absolute Return fund when it is officially launched. Whitechurch has been selectively using absolute return funds for high net worth clients for some time. However, until now it felt the quantity and quality of such funds was insufficient to offer a diversified portfolio in this area, says Haynes. He comment...
