FTSE's slow and steady descent

The FTSE 100 has barely changed from its overnight figure, but the index is currently on a downward curve.

BAE Systems is expectedly leading the way, up 2.73% on news it has clinched a £20bn deal to sell fighter jets to Saudi Arabia – currently 12.25 points higher, to 460.25. Miners are on the up as the bid rumour for Rio Tinto continues to surface. Lonmin is the pick of the bunch early, 72 points higher, or 2.13%, to 3451. Sage Group is also having a good morning; the business management software supplier is 4 points up, or 1.68%, to 242.75. Barclays is the leading the losses this morning as it offered to underwrite a $1bn bailout of the Mainsail II fund, it is currently 13.5 points down, or...
