Eighteen months ago, Royal Liver Life Assurance executives effectively gave one man a blank piece of paper and simply said "create a new life company aimed at the IFA market".

With a team of just 20, Mike Warr, director of IFA and new ventures at Royal Liver has done just that. Recognising the pressure other life offices are under with the progress of technology and handling administration, Warr decided to design to an online life company that would need as little administration as possible. From this, progress was made. A major worry for Royal Liver was the work needed to a new company would be costly, time-consuming and need a lot of staff to manage it, so rather than take on the work themselves and risk offering less than best of breed services they outsour...
