BSkyB leads FTSE decline

The FTSE 100 index is down 26.4 points or 0.43% to 6,183.9, in early trading despite rumours of a potential bid for Tate & Lyle.

Broadcaster BkyB is currently leading the decline with fall of 2.06% to 546p, closely followed by British Airways which is down 1.55% to 538.75p, while International Power has slipped 1.55% to 349p. DSG International has also opened lower with a fall of 1.43% to 171.75p, while Sage Group is down 1.37% to 270.25p, although losses are being limited by cruise operator Carnival which is up 0.65% to £27.77.
