Sean Connery backs bid to block HBOS merger - papers

Sir Sean Connery has given his backing to a legal bid to halt the merger of HBOS and Lloyds TSB, campaigners said, The Telegraph reports.

The Merger Action Group (MAG) said the former 007 actor sent them a personal message of support ahead of today's hearing at the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT). The campaign group said Sir Sean made it clear he did not believe the merger was in the best interests of Scotland or HBOS.
