Gold prices makes FTSE shine

The FTSE 100 has ended the day up 13.2 points, or 0.22%, to 5,890.2 as miners rallied on stabilising gold prices.

However Partygaming ended the day as the best performer on the FTSE with a rise of 5.96% to 106.75p, bouncing back after news a Vienna-listed rival had been suspended after Bavaria revoked its online gaming licence. Meanwhile mining stocks completed the top five risers, with Kazakhmys up 4.89% to £12.66, closely followed by Anglo American which added 3.08% to £21.75, while Vedanta Resources climbed 3.03% to £12.58 and Xstrata jumped 2.08% to £22.05.
