Financial Express appointed ABI data provider

Financial Express has been chosen as the sole data provider for the ABI Master Classification Database, following a competitive tender process.

The Financial Express-built and managed database will be a definitive industry catalogue of ABI sectors and their fund constituents. After an ABI review in 2007, the Investment Classification Committee identified discrepancies in the fund constituents of some ABI sectors between data providers. It felt there was a risk of consumer confusion which could damage the credibility of the life industry.
