Aegon UK says it is on target to hit 10% market share and 20% value of new business margin by 2010 after announcing results for the first nine months of the year.

The group today released figures showing the value of new business rose by 41% to £118m compared with the same period in 2006. It says this indicates an improvement in new business margin to 20.5% and a more profitable mix of business. Operating earnings also increased by 21% to £138m. In addition, the firm’s life and pensions businesses in the first nine months of 2007 reached £907m, an increase of 18% on the same period in 2006, although there was a slight slow-down in growth compared with the first half of 2007.
