ITV pushes FTSE higher

The FTSE 100 is up 31.2 points, or 0.51%, to 6,192.2, as insurers and miners got off to a good start.

However ITV is currently posting the biggest gains with a rise of 2.8% to 110p, after a broker upgrade, closely followed by Prudential which is up 2.32% to 728p, while BHP Billiton has gained 2.26% to 906.5p. Yell Group is also performing well with a rise of 2.16% to 590.5p, closely followed by Royal Sun & Alliance Insurance which is up 2.14% to 155.25p, although gains are being limited by Tate & Lyle which is down 0.66% to 752.5p.
