The FTSE 100 is down 22.7 points, or 0.36%, to 6,246.6 in early trading as energy and commodity stocks move lower.
Energy generator Drax is extend yesterday’s losses with a fall of 2.85% to 699p, to act as the biggest drag on the index so far, while miner BHP Billiton has dropped 1.09% to 948.5p, and Liberty International has slipped 1.37% to £12.95. Shire is also down 1.18% to £10.86, while Man Group has slipped 1.18% to 545.75p, although losses are being limited by Persimmon which is up 0.77% to £14.39, while Centrica is up 0.6% to 374.75p. Drinks firms are also performing well with Cadburys Schweppes up 0.89% to 565p, closely followed by Diageo which has climbed 0.86% to £10.02, although Imperial...
