Axa SIPP allows investors to buy hotel rooms

Axa has launched a scheme to allow investors to buy hotel rooms as part of its SIPP.

Investors can buy a room from GuestInvest, a hotel room investment company, on a 999-year lease. Owners receive 50% of the room's income, managed by the hotel, and benefit from any capital appreciation on re-sale. The investment offers a guaranteed minimum 6% return for the first year of the hotel's operation. Axa highlights buying a room through a SIPP offers investors tax relief at their marginal rate.
