FTSE starts lower, but recovering

The FTSE 100 is down in early trading after a late dip on Wall Street, currently on its way up but still sitting 23.5 points lower, or 0.38%, to 6195.5.

Broker ICAP is struggling this morning, falling 13.25 points, or 2.69%, to 478.5. Kazakhmys is headlining a sluggish start for miners, losing some of the solid gains made yesterday. Kazakhstan's biggest copper producer is down 27 points, or 2.26%, to 1168. BT and British Airways are posting small gains early, up 0.89%, to 310.75 and 0.87%, to 404.5 respectively. The Dow Jones made solid gains overnight, but let them go in late trading to slip 3.01 points, or 0.02%, to 13236.53.
