FTSE phones in losses

BT is among the companies losing ground today as the FTSE 100 index is down by a marginal 3.7 points to 6,241.50 this morning.

BT has dropped 2.75p to 308.75p. Vodafone, another telco, is down 0.75p to 142.25p as its board ponders an ongoing battle in the Indian market, which has raised the issue of conflicts of interest at the board level. Cairn Energy, another group with Indian links is down10p to £17.94. Among the gainers is British Airways, up 4.25p to 528p after rival Aer Lingus reported stronger than expected growth. British Land has continued its gains, rising another 33p to £17.31 - the real estate investment trust market will kick off in a few days time and many see this as a key player going forward...
