Election day in the US has injected a spring in the step of Wall St as the Dow Jones approaches a 3% climb after less than three hours' trading.
The Dow Jones has climbed more than 260 points, or 2.79%, to hit 9,579, it's highest since October 7. AIG is the day's early front runner, advancing more than 12% to 2.41 points after one of its directors resigned. Meanwhile in London, the FTSE scaled 4,600 for the first time in just under a month after Morgan Stanley signalled equities were at good value. US bank reversed its "full house sell signal" of June 2007 to a "full house buy signal". Miner Kazakhmys had advanced more than 16% while Wood Group, the London Stock Exchange Group, AMEC and Man Group were all toasting double-figure...
