IMA calls on EC for 'level playing field' on savings

The Investment Management Association (IMA) urges the European Commission to create a more level playing field at EU level between different savings products.

The European Commission’s green paper, Retail Financial Services in the Single Market, calls for providers to supply investors with better product information. A statement from IMA says it welcomes “the commission's commitment to removing the barriers to pan-European investment fund business while warning that this is only a first step towards a level playing field.” The paper outlines recommendations for improved financial literature, clear and timely information on provision and high quality advice.
