FTSE falls as investors withdraw bet on William Hill

In the UK, the FTSE 100 has started slowly losing 18.7 points to 4734.7 points this morning on concerns of a weaker US dollar.

Betting chain William Hill leads the drop losing 13.50p to 514p. Tesco has slipped 4.5p to 304.25p, after reaching record levels for its shares following good financial results yesterday. Dixons has also lost 2.25p to 147.75p. Steelmaker Corus, has added 75p to 55.50p boosted by worldwide metal shortage supplies. Stocks in Japan declined after a drop in the US again caused concern for major exporters led by Nissan and Fuji Photo Film. Benchmark, the Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 0.7% to 10,828.5 points, paced by Fuji Photo Film who shed 1.4%to 3,560 yen, with the US making up nearl...
