Osborne to co-run BlackRock Absolute Alpha

BlackRock's Nick Osborne has been promoted to co-manage the firm's £800m UK Absolute Alpha fund alongside Mark Lyttleton.

Osborne, who joined BlackRock in 1999, has worked with Lyttleton on the fund since its April 2005 launch. The UK Absolute Alpha fund has increased in value every quarter since launch - delivering a 4.41% return in Q1 this year, despite the 9.85% fall for the FTSE All Share index. “Nick Osborne has been a key member of the team behind the success of Absolute Alpha since launch,” BlackRock UK retail head Alex Hoctor-Duncan says. “I am delighted that this appointment formally recognises his contribution to the performance of the fund and his skill in uncovering investment opportunities.”...
