Students starting university later this year expect to pay a total of £26,000 to cover their course and living expenses for three years, suggests NatWest research.
Data gathered by the NatWes Money Matters Survey reveals sixth formers expect to acquire debts of around £13,000 by the time they finish university, as they will need to find an average of £950 to cover essentials. Funds totally around £23,787 will have to stretch to cover the cost of rent, food, books, beer and cigarettes, in addition to tuition fees of £1,125 per year, suggest spending figures presented by those already at university.
