CTF contributions defy savings malaise

Contributions to Child Trust Funds (CTF) are continuing to climb despite the gloomy market conditions, according to The Tax Incentivised Savings Association (TISA).

The organisation's quarterly survey found there was an increase in regular and lump sum contributions into CTFs, bucking the trend of a sharply deteriorating savings ratio over the last ten years. Monthly CTF subscriptions rose to £21.95 a month, up 9p from the previous quarter, TISA says, while the average lump sum subscription also increased to £508 from £488 for the proceeding three months.
