Morningstar unveils adviser model portfolio range

Morningstar Associates Europe, the independent investment research provider, is launching a range of model portfolios for advisers to help them select appropriate funds for clients.

The new service will be based around funds on Morningstar's Premier List, consisting of an initial 45 funds chosen from the complete universe of funds sold in the UK. This list will grow to approximately 70 funds during the remainder of the year. Selected funds are organised into core, building block, specialty, and fixed-interest categories. "Core" funds are targeted for smaller investment portfolios and can be used as a sole investment for a client, while "building block" funds are best used in the assembly of a portfolio.
