The FTSE 100 index has fallen 40.5 points, or 0.7%, to 5,667 points today, led by fund managers.
Schroders has fallen 2.19% to 894p and Man Group has declined 2.54% to £23.45, led by the continuing declines in equity markets. Building supplies giant Wolseley has fallen 0.62% to £11.14 after it said revenue for the 11 months to 30 June is up by around 25% on the same period in 2005. Tesco has dropped 0.29% to 346p after it acquired Leader Price in Poland - a convenience retailer with sales of £167m. BAE Systems has gained 1.05% to 336.5p.
