Markets continue bullish ride

Stocks in BP continued to climb in the UK this morning with oil trading in record waters, helping the FTSE 100 rise about 2 points to 4,709.

The FTSE All-Share index is also up about 2 points to 2336.6. BP is up 3p to 552p, after estimates were increased of oil and gas finds in Russia's far-east near Sakhalin Island. AstraZeneca, the U.K.'s second-biggest drugmaker, is off by 12p to 2271p. Stocks in Japan are up for a fifth straight day, taking the Nikkei 225 index to its highest level in more than two months. The Nikkei added 103.55, or 0.9%, to 11,385.38 earlier this morning, with the latest run of gains representing a high of seven months. The Topix index climbed 7.57 to 1147.69.
