Mining stocks keep FTSE steady

The FTSE 100 is up 3.3 points, or 0.06%, to 5,880.3 in early trading, with Partygaming leading the risers.

Online gaming site Partygaming.com is up 2.73% to 103.5p to lead the gainers, closely followed by BG Group which is up 1.48% to 649.5p following speculation it may be a takeover target. Miners are also performing well as metal prices rebounded, with Kazakhmys up 1.16% to £12.21, while BHP Billiton, the world's largest mining company, is up 1% to 919p, after it said it is confident of reaching a wage agreement with workers at its Spence copper project in Chile. On the downside insurer Standard Life has slipped 0.83% to 267.75p, while British Airways has also dropped 0.81% to 427.25p, and...
