City Financial gilt fund tops IMA sector in '07

City Financial's Strategic Gilt fund topped the IMA UK Gilt sector in 2007.

Managed by Ian Williams, the £20m fund returned 6.47% over the course of last year, according to Lipper statistics (29 December ‘06 to 31 December ‘07). Next best was the Scottish Widows Gilt fund, which returned 5.39% in the same period, followed by the Schroder Institutional Sterling Bond fund with 4.8%. Launched in December 2006, the City Financial Strategic Gilt fund invests solely in AAA UK Government bonds and is available to retail, institutional and private investors.
