Gov't accused of bullying pensioners - papers 7th July

MINISTERS HAVE been accused of trying to bully victims of pension schemes which have wound up into dropping their legal case to force the government to compensate them for their losses, reports The Financial Times .

As IFAonline revealed on Wednesday, campaigners bringing a judicial review on behalf of 75,000 people who lost occupational pensions when their employers became insolvent, have been told that they will face unlimited legal costs if their bid fails. According to the paper, Ros Altmann, a pensions expert advising the campaign, is quoted as saying: "This is yet another underhand attempt to deny justice to the victims of this pensions scandal."
