FTSE leaps on Wall Street push

The FTSE 100 index has ended the day up 114 points, or 2% higher, to 5,833.9, adding to its earlier rise, as Wall Street jumped forward in opening trades.

Partygaming topped the risers as concerns over online gaming in the US waned, adding 7.75 points, or 8% to 104.5p, while on the downside BG Group slipped back 1.97% to 696.5p as oil prices started to ease. ICAP also performed well with a rise of 5.77% to 485.5p, closely followed by SABMiller with gains of 5.59% to £10.29, while Amvescap also increased 4.85% to 481.25p. At the end of trading, only four companies registered falls, with Reckitt Benckisier slipping 0.96% to 2,056p, closely followed by Yell Group which dropped 0.67% to 520p, while Corus made up the losers with a fall of 0....
