AHIPP welcomes Cooper role in cabinet

The Association of Home Information Pack Providers (AHIPP) has welcomed Gordon Brown's decision to keep Yvette Cooper as Minister for Housing and Planning.

Mike Ockenden, director general of AHIPP, says: “The Prime Minister’s decision, which will see Yvette Cooper remain in-charge of housing and as a result, the implementation of HIPs should be warmly welcomed by consumers, the environment and the industry.” It has also been reported that Cooper’s role will have an increased profile and she will be required to attend some cabinet meetings. The new Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, has made housing issues more prominent and has promised new measures to make house building easier and homes more environmentally friendly.
