M&G's Felton takes extended leave

Mike Felton is taking extended leave from M&G, having been diagnosed very recently with leukaemia.

The manager of the M&G UK Select fund will start treatment immediately, a process that requires some months to complete. Garfield Kiff, manager of the M&G UK Growth fund and deputy manager of the M&G UK Select fund, will manage Felton’s fund during his absence. A member of M&G’s UK equity team since February 2000, Kiff has worked closely with Felton since he joined M&G in early 2005. “We expect Mike to be able to return to work at the beginning of 2009. Our best wishes and support go to Mike and his family during this difficult time,” says an M&G spokeswoman. IFAonline
