SIML predicts new Best Ideas fund will take £30m in first month

Skandia Investment Management Ltd (SIML) is predicting it will take £30m in the first month into its latest best ideas fund which launches today.

The UK Strategic Best Ideas will include the ten top stock picks from ten fund managers who will also be allowed to short up to five of these ideas. The new fund follows the launch of the Global Best Ideas and UK Best Ideas funds in 2006 which are now over £800m in size. One of the high profile investors confirmed for the new fund is John Duffield, chairman of New Star, who will invest personally in the vehicle.
