FTSE slips slightly

The FTSE is trading slightly lower this morning, losing 9.80 points to 5,040.60 points, led by Hanson.

The construction and building materials firm has retreated 7.50p to 531.50p, along with British Airways and Rolls Royce Group, respectively down 3.25p to 277.50p and 289.50p. ITV meanwhile has added 1.50p to 117.25p, with Lloyds TSB advancing 5.50p to 468.50p. In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 Stock Average advanced to its highest mark since April, led by exporters including Sony and Honda, as the yen retreated against the dollar. The Nikkei added 0.2% to 11,335.92, while Sony advanced 0.8% to 3,920 yen. Car manufacturer Honda, picked up 0.9% to 5,420 yen. The company received in excess of 7...
