Social changes driving female life cover

The growing number of lone parent families could be driving an increase in the number of women applying for life cover says Click.

A study of 250,000 men and women by the online life broker reveals the number of female life cover applications has grown from 8.8% in March 2006 to around 34.5% a year later. Click says the increase in female applications coincides with a fall in male submissions from 91.2% to just 65.5% during the same period, and it suggests the figures follow the socio-economic trends research from the Office of National Statistics.
