Hong Kong banks are to offer Chinese currency services to investors. The Renminbi-denominated activities include accepting deposits, arranging remittances back to the mainland, arranging credit, foreign exchange transactions and issuing debit cards. There is an estimated Rmb20bn to Rmb70bn in Hong Kong, although banks have until now been unable to service the money.
