Top UK shares barely moved the FTSE 100 index this morning, as it dropped less than a point to 5,034, as shares in the London Stock Exchange dropped on news a bid from German rival Deutsche Bourse has been dropped.
LSE shares are down 50p to 489p, as analysts cut their ratings and stock exchange provider Euronext pondered its next move in also bidding for the UK market. BAE Systems is down 6p to 244p after announcing the acquisition of US company United Defense Industries, which makes artillery systems, naval guns and battlefield vehicles. BAE says the buy will give it exposure to US army spending, which is set to gain this year. GlaxoSmithKline has opened down 17p to 1,272p after Friday’s announcement two of its biggest sellers in the US are being withdrawn because of regulator concerns over ma...
